Qatar Foundation launches program to promote sustainability

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) , in cooperation with the Arab Youth Climate Movement in Qatar, announced the launch of a new leadership program aimed at empowering a group of environmental friends and ambassadors, and helping them to bring about sustainable long-term change within societies.

Between 15 and 20 participants, ranging from 18 to 35 years old, chosen to undergo a one-year training program, organized by the Qatar Green Building Council, member of Qatar Foundation, and the Arab Youth Climate Movement, will participate in the program titled "Ambassadors of the Environment in Qatar". The deadline for submission is scheduled for 4 July, with the program to start in August.

During the program, participants will cover many topics such as climate change, air pollution, plastic pollution, land and marine biological diversity, the food chain, environmental and societal sustainability, and environmental conservation. Participants will also learn in workshops and training courses how to communicate through social media, interviews and lectures Blogging to become effective leaders.

Once the program ends, environment ambassadors will start creating and expanding their social networks with the support of the Qatar Green Building Council and the Arab Youth Climate Movement in Qatar to contribute to raising awareness about the importance of sustainability and climate change, and reaching a broader audience.

The program is open to Qatari citizens and residents who have a passion for sustainability, and to demonstrate a desire and ability to learn.
