Qatar Entertainment City, a mega US$3bn project of Abu Dhabi Investment House (ADIH), has been adjudged the best development in Qatar in the recently concluded CNBC Arabian Awards 2008. The prestigious award was presented at a glittering gala dinner held at The Madinat in Dubai on Sunday. Yousef Darwish, general manager of Qatar Entertainment City, said winning such a prestigious award is an honour. He attributed the feat to their commitment to excellence. He added that aside from ADIH's vision, the professional team of QEC comprising world-class experts helped a lot in making their effort a success. QEC — a mixed-use development — is currently being developed over one million square meters situated near the water front in Lusail Development, north of Doha. The project is ADIH's first "Entertainment City concept which forms part of the US$10bn global mega-mixed use development initiative which is also being developed in India and North Africa. Fawaz Ali Al Jowder, ADIH deputy Chief Executive Officer, said: The entertainment city concept is a vision to add value to each community. It will result in combining the right mix to provide the best in living, entertainment and business.
