Qatar, as one of the fastest growing economies in the world, continues to attract talent into its market to maintain its growth and remains a desirable location to work for many, according to the findings of a survey conducted by Reed. Reed, which has an office in Qatar, is a specialist provider of permanent, contract, temporary and outsourced recruitment solutions, as well as information technology and human resources consulting. According to the findings, certain sectors, such as energy, property and construction, aviation, information technology (IT), financial services, accountancy and banking remain stronger than others with candidates continuing to apply for vacancies. Within these sectors there is demand for talent from the relevant candidate pools and generally, the requirement from clients focuses on senior, highly skilled professionals. Suitable candidates are sought from both inside and outside Qatar, where necessary. Salaries also remain relatively stable, with few increases reported. Areas that have seen increases include IT and Infrastructure, energy and some areas of construction. These sectors represent key areas that are required to support Qatar’s growth. Steve Williams, Reed Personnel Services Country Manager in Qatar, said: “The research findings provide a valuable insight for employers, employees and job-seekers, and is an excellent addition to our new website, which forms part of reedglobal.com, which spans our operations across 12 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.” http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=July2009&file=Local_News2009071423437.xml
