Qatar Airways will take part in the fifth annual UK career fair aimed at Qatari students, taking place in London today and tomorrow. The two-day event, organised and hosted by H E Khalid Al Mansouri, Qatar's Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary to the UK, will have leading Qatari organisations exhibiting, with a fully booked attendance by Qatari students studying in the UK. Qatar Airways will be present with a dedicated booth at the fair, and will meet Qatari students, familiarising them with potential job opportunities with the national airline. A growing number of Qatari students are studying in renowned universities across the UK. The career fair presents a fitting opportunity for employers from Qatar to engage and interact with the huge potential new talent. Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said that the participation in this prestigious career fair was part of the airline's continued expansion plans and Qatarisation efforts. "With a fleet of 105 aircraft flying to 112 destinations around the world, we are constantly expanding our fleet and global network," he said. "As one of the world's fastest growing airlines, we are forging ahead with aggressive recruitment in line with our expansion strategy. Today when most airline companies are struggling for survival, Qatar Airways remains one of the few carriers expanding aggressively and, in turn, offering attractive job opportunities and tremendous growth potential for young people to enjoy a rewarding career with the airline. "This career fair is an excellent opportunity to introduce Qatari students to different job disciplines available with the airline and its subsidiaries. We will continue to be on the lookout for young Qatari talent and nurture them to become future aviation professionals," added Al Baker. Qatar Airways National Scholarship Programme Senior Manager Dr Kholode Al Obaidli will deliver a presentation on Qatar Airways and explain career prospects through scholarship programmes that are being offered by the carrier. She will share information with the students on Qatar Airways' National Scholarship Programme (QNSP) and stress the importance of the contribution of Qatar's local talent as key for the national carrier's long-term success. QNSP is designed to financially support youth in their post-secondary educational pursuits, with an optional work experience component that provides internships throughout their programmes, as well as a rotation programme in the airline upon graduation.
