Qatar accords get seal of approval

HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani has issued the instrument of ratification to approve an agreement on economic and technical co-operation signed between the governments of Qatar and of the Republic of Cyprus in Nicosia on November 11 last year. The Emir also issued an instrument of ratification to approve a convention between the governments of Qatar and the Republic of Cyprus over the abolishment of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports signed in Doha on May 6 this year. Instruments of ratification were also issued to approve: * an agreement between Qatar and the Republic of Cyprus on encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments in Nicosia signed on November 11 last year * a protocol for consultation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, signed in Doha on May 6 this year na convention on economic and technical co-operation between the governments of Qatar and Bulgaria, signed in Sofia on April 14 this year * an agreement between the governments of Qatar and El Salvador to exempt holders of diplomatic passports of the entry requirements to the two countries * an agreement on encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments signed between the governments of Qatar and Portugal in Lisbon on April 24 this year * a convention between the governments of Qatar and Cuba on the provision of medical services, signed on April 22 last year na convention on the establishment of a joint committee between the governments of Qatar and Belarus signed in Minsk on April 13 this year * a convention on economic co-operation between the governments of Qatar and Croatia, signed in Zagreb on April 23 this year The Emir also issued a document to approve to join the convention on the prohibition or restriction on the use of certain conventional weapons which may be deemed to be excessively harmful or to have indiscriminate effects and the following protocols: * on the fragments which cannot be detected or disclosed / the first Protocol I of 1980 * on prohibition or restriction on the use of incendiary weapons/ the third Protocol of 1980 * on blinding laser weapons / the fourth Protocol of 1995 * a protocol on explosive remnants of war / the fifth Protocol of 2003. http://gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=311958&version=1&template_id=36&parent_id=16
