Huge Response for 2nd Spring Camp at Al Khor Doha: The Community Policing Section of North Security Department organized the '2nd spring camp 2012' under the theme 'For a safer spring' at Al Khor corniche on last Friday, 17/2/2012. Different departments from the Ministry of Interior and some other private and public institutions from outside took part in the camp which was organized with the aim of raising security awareness among various segments of the society including citizens and expatriates living in the country. A huge number of visitors including families, citizens and expatriates residing in Al Khor and surrounding areas toured the camp which presented many awareness and recreational programs that attracted the audience in a high range. The awareness camp was organized with the participation of Civil Defense, Coast Guard, Traffic Department, Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohol Affairs, Community Policing Section of North Security Department and Seashore Group. The in charges of each pavilion gave explanation about the functions and duties of their departments and distributed awareness brochures, booklets and stickers among the public in the tent. The organizers also have arranged the show of classic cars for the public with the support of SeasShore Group. The activities of the awareness camp started with police music performed by musicians of the Police Training Institute and then a number of shows were presented by police dogs from the Criminal Evidences and Information Department. The shows exhibited the skills and talents of the dogs in finding out and tracing the criminals and explosives and drugs as well. This was followed by an awareness demonstration by Qatar Red Crescent on first aid and major risks to which the families are exposed in case of medical emergencies and how to deal with it. Helicopter ambulance service also took part in the camp in the framework of spreading awareness on the services rendered by the flying ambulance team. The families and children were given chance to take photos close to the helicopter and inside it. In addition to this, the pavilion of producing families also grabbed huge response of the camp visitors as they served a number of Qatari traditional foods and the visitors could to introduce with some products manufactures by them. The camp also has organized some awareness competition for the public Before wrapping up the camp, head of Community Policing Section of North Security Department Lt. Col. Ahmed Zayed Al Muhannadi expressed his appreciation and gratitude for all those took part in the camp for conducting a successful event and he especially thanked Seashore Group for sponsoring the camp. - ILQ news -
