Catwalk Talents event was a charity fashion and talent show organized by Stenden University students studying Event Management as their module project, coordinated Dr. Tahira Makda, Module coordinator. The event was held on 3rd of February 2012 in Katara. The event attracted 536 international guests. One of the guests of honor was the Arab talent celebrity Hala Al Turk who performed during the show. The future catwalk talents presented fashion for kids by the Qatari designers “M’s Collection” and “Albatoola” as well as the Bahraini designer “Dar Noqoosh”. As the event was a combination of fashion show and talent show, 14 talent performances of various arts by kids took place as well. The arts included singing, playing instruments, dancing and even gymnastics. Four winners were chosen by the audience and the judges. Raida who played the Canon won first place. Second was Hala singing “Somewhere over the Rainbow”, third place was Sia singing the title song of “Titanic” and fourth place went to Reem who performed “Al Helwa Di”.
The sponsors of the event were: Q-media, The Planner, Redco Construction, Merweb Hotel, Mazaya Qatar, IBQ, Swan Beauty Center, Al-Jaber Opticians, Yellow Cab Pizza, Photo Live, Sanabel Printing Press, Milano Travel and Doha Bank. The proceeds of the evening are directed to the Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt.
