More than 200 million Qatari riyals raised for the #PalestineDuty fundraising campaign

Over 200 million qatari riyals fundraised relief for palestine campaign

On Qatar National Day 2023, Qatar TV broadcasted the live coverage of the #PalestineDuty campaign from donation points spread across Souq Waqif, Darb Al Saai and Katara Cultural Village.

H.H. The Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani donated 100 million Qatari Riyals to the fundraising campaign.

Ooredoo Qatar donated 1 million Qatari Riyals to the campaign. They also announced that they will offer all their customers free calls to Palestine until 31 December 2023.

A philanthropist also donated 10 million Qatari riyals to the campaign. Another group of donations amounting to 7.8 million Qatari riyals, 2.9 million Qatari riyals and more were donated for the campaign.

In the Qatar Television broadcast on 18 December 2023, from the city of Al-Arish, Fatima Al-Kuwari and Wahiba Al-Saadi, volunteers at the Qatar Red Crescent, also talked about the motivation behind their volunteering to participate in the relief.

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) to deploy a relief aid ship

The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) announced its plan to deploy a relief aid ship, equal to the capacity of some 30 aircraft, to deliver as much Qatari aid as possible to the people of the Gaza Strip affected by the Israeli aggression.

Proceeding with QRCS's ongoing relief efforts and humanitarian support since 7 October for the people of Gaza, subject to a 73-day-long aggression, the aid ship comes in part thanks to the #PalestineDuty fundraising campaign launched on 18 December 2023.

In a statement, QRCS said that the aid ship will carry a wide range of vital relief materials to meet the health, food, and shelter needs of affected people.

The #PalestineDuty campaign was launched on Qatar National Day, on December 18, with three locations designated to receive cash and in-kind donations from the visitors of Katara Cultural Village, Souq Waqif, and Darb Al Saai.

Additionally, Qatar TV broadcasts a live show from 5 pm to 12 am to receive donations and pledges from the public, in solidarity with the desperate brotherly people of Gaza.

The campaign was co-launched by the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), and Qatar Charity (QC).
