The newly-opened Qtel Oasis resort near Mesaieed is offering a range of new activities for children and families from this weekend. Qtel Oasis provides a location for parents to spend quality time with their children and enjoy the peace of nature and the countryside. The new activities set to be launched this weekend are designed with this in mind, and will support the Oasis’ family-friendly environment. Located towards the coast, some three kilometres from Mesaieed and close to Endurance Village, Qtel Oasis is fully equipped with key utilities, including electricity, water and even wireless broadband Internet connectivity across the whole site. People travelling from Doha can reach the site by taking the road towards the Sealine beach area. Starting this weekend, the resort has a range of surprises and activities planned for children and visiting families. Tents are provided for the visitors’ use and children are given free kites to play with, and the whole area has been landscaped to retain its natural beauty and preserve the character and ecology of the surrounding area. Qtel Oasis also includes a range of inflatable slides and sports areas that people can use. Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director of Qtel’s Group Communications, said: “Qtel supports projects like the Qtel Oasis as part of our ongoing work to offer a range of resources for the whole community of Qatar. The Qtel Oasis is already proving very popular with visitors and residents, and the number of attractions and activities will increase as the Oasis develops.” Qtel Oasis is open for the public on Thursdays and Saturdays from 2pm to 9pm, and on Fridays from 2pm to 10pm. Initially, the Oasis will be open for the first four months of 2009, but the project will continue if there is strong public interest and support for the initiative. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=January2009&file=Local_News2009012352359.xml Looks like Qtel are stepping up their game!
