Ministry announces all mosques to open during Ramadan; including women prayer areas

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced the organization of a number of programs and events during the blessed month of Ramadan 1443 AH for the year 2022 in various regions of the country as part of its preparations.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Thani, Director General of the General Administration of Endowments, said during a press conference held on 29 March 2022 on this occasion that the administration’s activities during the Holy Month are characterized by diversity and diversity, through which bridges of communication are built with partners in society, in order to achieve the slogan of the endowment is a partnership. He pointed to the support of the General Administration of Endowments for a number of competitions and events throughout the Holy Month, in addition to the establishment of the Prophet's Hadith councils, as well as the launch of a number of new qualitative initiatives.

Giving Basket campaign

He indicated that the administration will launch a program to deliver food baskets to needy families and workers, through the Giving Basket campaign, which benefited more than four thousand families last year, in support of the Endowment Bank for Piety and Piety, during the Holy Month.

For his part, Khaled Shaheen Al-Ghanim, Director of the Islamic Affairs Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, said that there is cooperation with Qatari embassies abroad, and the Islamic Affairs Department has shipped containers of books and Qurans to Qatari embassies abroad in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Muhammad Hamad al-Kuwari, Director of the Mosques Department, confirmed that the department has equipped a group of distinguished Qatari reciters of imams to participate in Tarawih prayers and resurrection, and there will be a conclusion at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque, as well as at the Mosque of Education City and the Mosque of Al-Shuyoukh.

He noted that the administration cares about mosques, their care and supervision, and in the month of Ramadan the work and effort increases to provide comfort for the worshipers, so the administration works on preparing mosques about two months before Ramadan, in terms of cleanliness, preparing for the maintenance of mosques, providing the needs of each mosque and preparing women’s chapels, which will be open during the Holy Month, and times will soon be determined and circulated to mosques about their opening times.

He noted that last year 57 plots of land were allocated from urban planning for the construction of projects such as mosques and memorization centers. He thanked the urban planning for their continuous cooperation in allocating land for building mosques, Eid chapels and memorization centers.

Zakat Fund

Mr. Jassim bin Muhammad Al Kubaisi, Director of the Zakat Fund Department, confirmed that the fund's plan for the Holy Month will include receiving requests and interviewing cases on two shifts (morning and evening), whether through the website or by coming to the Zakat Fund building.

He added that the administration of the Zakat Fund will carry out a number of projects during the Holy Month of Ramadan, including the charity basket project, Zakat al-Fitr and Eid aid, noting that the fund receives between 70 and 100 files per day, and the total number of files is 26,000 files since the fund's establishment, while the ongoing files range Or permanent between 5 and 6 thousand files.

For his part, Mr. Mal Allah Abdul Rahman Al-Jaber, Director of the Department of Advocacy and Religious Guidance, confirmed that easing the precautionary measures contributed to the return of events in a manner similar to what they were before the Corona pandemic and that the Department of Advocacy and Religious Guidance has nearly a thousand field activities during the month of Ramadan, between lessons in Mosques, seminars and competitions for children and others for adults and field visits to patients in hospitals.

"Little Fasting" festival

He added that the administration will present the "Little Fasting" festival, through which we will target students of the centers of teaching the Holy Quran, to encourage them to fast in the blessed month of Ramadan, in which a set of prizes will be distributed to motivate them, and we will have a program through the ministry's account entitled "Live Final" at 4 pm every day throughout the month.

Al-Jaber noted that among the programs of the Department of Da`wah and Religious Guidance in Ramadan, the breaths of Ramadan in the three mosques, Imam Mosque, Katara, Education City, and the program and their safety from fear.

For his part, Dr. Saleh Ali Al-Akhan, director of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, confirmed that the center will present a number of Ramadan programs and activities to the center, indicating that there are about 15 activities and programs during the holy month, reflecting the values ​​and Sharia of Islam to benefit from the holy month. It will be in about nine languages.
