he Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) has launched a new service, ‘Enquire’, to facilitate communication with the ministry’s staff.
As part of the service, customers can contact the department at 44348885 for enquiries.
Jabor Abdullah al-Attiyah, director of the Human Resources Department, stressed that the launch of the ‘Enquire’ service marked an effective and modern mode of communication with customers of the department, in the framework of the commitment to the objectives of the National Development Strategy 2011-2016.
Internally, he explained, various services of the department -- such as personnel affairs, wages and salaries, leave and personal transactions, training and development, and air tickets — would be provided through a unified number — 8885. The move is part of the integration of the ministry’s services and its quest to improve facilities provided to the public, minimise time wastage for customers, save efforts and to enhance staff performance, according to a statement.
The new service includes a recorded message, which highlights latest services and instructions, which will play while the line is busy. It also keeps a record of incoming numbers to facilitate further communication and follow-up.
One of the advantages of the new phone service is the call recording feature, which will help assess the quality of staff performance.
Further, the service is supported by both voice-mail and e-mail, which allow customers to leave a message if there is no answer, with the option of sending the message in the form of an audio file to the e-mail of the staff concerned.
