The Ministry of Interior (MOI) issued a clarification on 25 May 2024 regarding the violations imposed concerning seatbelt usage.

As per the announcement, seat belt violations will be imposed on a car's driver and front seat passenger when detected by surveillance cameras or traffic patrols.

The ministry further clarified that this regulation aligns with Article 54 of Traffic Law No. (19) of 2007, which stipulates that a driver and front-seat passenger must wear seat belts when the car is in motion.
