The Pharmacy and Drug Control Department at the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) expects medicine prices to fall very soon, the Arrayah Arabic daily has reported. Officials cited the introduction of a large amount of medicines into the local market as the reason for the expected fall in prices. They indicated that the council would assume a crucial role in controlling prices. One of the officials also stated that registration of new drug importers, who have met the necessary requirements, was going on . “Moreover, the SCH would soon open the local market for international medicine companies.” The official said there would be regular inspection of pharmacies to enforce compliance with the price plan.
