In a shocking incident, a man stole 250 Rolex watches worth millions of Qatari Riyal from Hamad International Airport showroom, and was arrested by customs officials at Cairo International Airport in Egypt.
The man was an employee of Rolex and worked at their airport showroom for the past 7 years. He had planned to steal the watches of the luxury brand and leave the country on EgyptAir, even before anybody found out about the theft.
However, security officials discovered the theft at 7am, a little after EgyptAir took off from Doha. The security cameras helped them to figure out how the theft was executed. The authorities then coordinated with the Egyptian carrier, Cairo airport and the Interpol and the man was arrested on arrival. The police have found the stolen watches in his possession and have seized it.
