The Al Rayyan Municipality has pulled out large quantities of inedible lemon and potato from the central market, according to a tweet from the Ministry of Municipality.
The Municipality seized 2,128kg of imported lemons and 88 bags of potatoes weighing 1,320kg from Al Sailiya Central Market because they were found unfit for human consumption.
The confiscated vegetables were destroyed in order to preserve the overall health of the consumer, the Ministry added.
