Ministries refute food poisoning rumors circulating social media

The Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Municipality (Al Baladiya) have released a joint statement refuting social media rumors about the closure of restaurants in Qatar due to contaminated food. The statement reiterates that these rumors are baseless.

They also point out that no food violations that cause food poisoning have been recorded, and no food establishments have been closed for this reason. They add that samples of circulated foodstuffs continue to be taken within the framework of the regulatory agencies' routine daily procedures for examination in the central laboratory to ensure their suitability for human consumption.

The ministries confirm that all food products in the State of Qatar are subject to strict health control through campaigns and continuous inspection tours of food establishments and food provided throughout the country around the clock.

The ministries also stress the importance of obtaining information from official sources in the country only and avoid exchanging inaccurate information from unofficial sources.
