Japanese firms to attend ecoQ

DOHA: Globally renowned Japanese corporations are participating at the Qatar International Environment Protection and Sustainable Energy Exhibition & Conference (ecoQ) to be held from October 16 to 18 at the Doha Exhibition Centre, organisers have announced. World renowned names such as Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries LTD, Sharp Corporation, Naturock Japan Co. Ltd, Lixil Corporation and Taisei Corporation, are currently gearing up to present their latest innovative technologies, products and solutions in the Environment sector to Qatar. Hosted by the Japanese Embassy in Qatar, Tadashi Maeda, Special Advisor to the Cabinet of Japan, will have presentation in the conference of ecoQ expo to introduce Japanese strategy on deployment of the packaged infrastructure to overseas market and its advanced technologies on energy efficiency and energy conservation. Kenjiro Monji, Ambassador of Japan to Qatar, said that Japan and Qatar have enjoyed excellent relationship for many years based on economic ties centered on energy. “However, now is time to diversify our relations to cover other areas beyond energy. Japan has gone a long way in developing solutions and technologies to protect the environment and achieve sustainability”, said Ambassador Monji. “We are pleased to welcome a number of Japan’s leading business corporations in ecoQ expo next October. ecoQ will provide an excellent platform for these corporations to present their latest technologies and services to the Qatar market. The Japanese Pavilion in ecoQ will provide visitors a closer look at some of the world’s most advanced technologies and products used to preserve the environment offered by some of the leading corporations in Japan,” he added. ecoQ is an international annual exhibition & conference, officially supported by the Ministry of Environment in Qatar, Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, The German Delegation for Trade & Commerce AHK, Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute, Friends of the Environment Center in Qatar and Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science (Unesco). Honorary Chairman of ecoQ’s Advisory Committee is Sheikh Hassan bin Mohammad bin Ali Al Thani and Chairman of ecoQ Advisory Committee is Dr Saif Al Hajari, CEO of Friends of the Environment Centre.
