Public Works Authority Ashghal has decided to close the Wadi Musheireb Roundabout (Jaidah Roundabout) beneath the Jaidah Flyover for two days from today to complete the final asphalt works. “The roundabout and a portion of the approaching Sinan bin Thabet Street extending from B-Ring road will remain closed for traffic from Thursday evening until Sunday morning,” a spokesman for Ashghal said. “This comes as part of the expansion of the roundabout with additional lanes and side roads to ease the traffic congestion, making the roundabout and the approaching roads more traffic friendly,” said engineer Hamad Essa Rajab, acting head of Traffic Congestion Resolving Committee. Additional measures to ensure traffic flow include placing traffic signals at the roundabout as in other major roundabouts. This will be implemented soon in the second phase.
