The new 60-storey InterContinental Doha West Bay is set to open in 2010, an official from the Doha InterContinental Hotel said. The hotel, which will comprise of 540 hotel rooms and serviced apartments, will be the second InterContinental hotel in the country. “The new hotel will cater to the rapidly increasing demand from both the intra-regional and international luxury business and conference sectors,” said Michael Koth, general manager of the Doha InterContinental Hotel. InterContinental Doha West Bay will have a conference centre, a club lounge and business centre available to business class guests and will also offer luxurious rooms and amenities as standard. Food and beverage outlets will include an all-day dining restaurant and lounge, seating more than 200 guests, a steak house, and a Sushi and Dim Sum venue. Further restaurants will be located on levels 55 and 56. A gourmet shop at the Lobby Level is being especially-designed to support Residence Suites guests, a gym, spa and outdoor swimming pool will be integrated into the contemporary hotel design on the 46th floor. NEW RESTAURANT Meanwhile, the Doha InterContinental Hotel will open its first Greek-Mediterranean restaurant here later this year. Michael Koth, general manager of the Doha InterContinental Hotel, said they are planning to open the restaurant after Eid Al Fitr. He said the staff members for the restaurant have already been picked.
