Just recently, renowned Hollywood actor, producer and entrepreneur, Bradley Bowen visit Doha through Verve Management as the Aficionado’s Community Endorser for the soft launch of Aficionado Qatar’s newest fragrances from its Premier Collection. The event was a simple and elegant gathering and one of the main attractions of the show was a meet and greet with Bradley followed by a dinner with the Hollywood star himself.

During his visit to Qatar, ILQ had the chance to meet up with the actor, producer and entrepreneur and get to know more about him. We talked to him about his interesting career timeline that started from surfing, led to construction and eventually landed him in Hollywood where he has featured in ads, TV shows and movies like the Hunger Games, Ant-Man, Tomorrowland, Divergent, Furious 7 and Allegiant.

ILQ: Can you tell us more about yourself?

Bradley Bowen: I left high school behind at the age of 15 for surfing; I quickly established myself as a competitive surfer. I, then, began working in construction as a laborer and went on to open my own construction company at the age of 22. I ran my company until 2016 when I made a career change into Film/TV.

ILQ: How did you make the switch from construction to acting and production? Was it easy to switch careers?

Bradley Bowen: I was overwhelmed with stresses of the construction industry and needed a new way to express myself. I was introduced to acting when the film “Tomorrow Land” starring George Clooney was filming in my hometown. I was invited on set as a background actor. I enjoyed the experience and immediately began pursuing more roles. I received my lucky break when I was upgraded from background actor to principal role receiving eligibility to join the SAG - AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists). It was then that I decided to change careers. I began to realize some parallels between construction and production, and opened Flight Productions. No, it isn't easy switching careers.

ILQ: How did your family react to the switch?

Bradley Bowen: My family has always been supportive of me and my endeavors. It would not have been possible without their support.

ILQ: What are the perks pf being an actor that you didn't have as a construction man, aside from the fame?

Bradley Bowen: My fingernails aren't dirty. I’m not as stressed physically and emotionally, and I am able to explore my creativity.

ILQ: What has been your most favorite role?

Bradley Bowen: My favorite role was US Customs Officer Cunningham in the film “American Made” starring Tom Cruise because I was able to work with many top actors and crew members on a large-scale production; I learned valuable lessons in the process.

ILQ: What other interests do you have?

Bradley Bowen: I enjoy nature, outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and rock climbing. I train Brazilian Ju-Jitsu and enjoy staying healthy through fitness and nutrition.

ILQ: What is your philosophy in life?

Bradley Bowen: It’s better to give than to receive, A quick nickel is better than a slow dime, earn enough money to enjoy your time and have enough time to enjoy your money.

ILQ: Do you have any regrets?

Bradley Bowen: Although, I’ve learned many lessons the hard way, I have no regrets.
