IBQ IS partnering W Doha Hotel & Residences to provide healthy iftar meals to patients at Rumailah Hospital. The programme is part of IBQ’s annual ‘Do Good Deeds in the Month of Charity’ campaign that aims at encouraging teamwork for the welfare of the community and volunteer support. Every year, IBQ’s Ramadan campaign comprises a series of community programmes and initiatives targeting different walks of the society. This year, in line with its focus on youth and part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility through which it sponsors or spearheads various societal initiatives, the IBQ will be spreading its activities across Rumailah Hospital and Dhreima Foundation for the third year in a row. The ‘Do Good Deeds’ campaign began with the Garangao celebrations recently during which a festive gathering was held at the Qatar National Theatre with IBQ staff volunteering to distribute specially designed gifts to all the children who attended the event. The staff continued with a visit to the paediatric ward at Rumailah Hospital with more gifts and a donation for the ward. On Tuesday, the IBQ will be heading again to Rumailah Hospital with W Doha Hotel & Residences to organise a special iftar for the elderly and their families. W Doha will be providing a nutritional and balanced meal to cater to different medical cases while IBQ will be giving some necessities in gift bags to the patients. George Nasra, Managing Director of IBQ said: “We, are strongly committed to our community throughout the year and particularly during the month of philanthropy. We have continued our support to two key organisations, Dhreima and Rumailah, with targeted activities. At the IBQ, we are conscious corporate citizens and we have a solid longterm CSR campaign that we always adhere to. We feel that the time and efforts we invest in such endeavours are truly essential to engage with our society.” Safak Guvenc, general manager of W Doha Hotel & Residences, said: “We are very happy to be partnering with IBQ on such initiative. W Doha Hotel & Residences has always been a vanguard of philanthropic activities particularly during the Holy Month of Ramadan and it’s great to be on board IBQ’s ‘Do Good Deeds’ campaign which is in line with our commitment to support our community. We have, for instance, organised iftar for cab drivers. The Rumailah iftar is a continuation of what we have started.” http://www.qatar-tribune.com/data/20110815/content.asp?section=nation3_1
