Human Rights Department honours social activists

The Ministry of Interior’s Human Rights Department honoured a group of women educationists and social activists as a mark of respect for the cooperation and support they extended to the department. The function, held on the occasion of International Women’s Day and Qatari Family Day, was marked by the presence of Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, Director General of Public Security. Lt Col Abdullah Saqr Al Muhannadi, Director of Human Rights Department, Lt Col Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director of Public Relations Department were also present. Addressing the event, Sheikha Amal bint Jassim Al Thani, Researcher at the department said: “The department has launched several human rights awareness initiatives ever since it was launched in 2005. Many Qatari female educationists and social activists and social service personalities have cooperated with the department in this mission. In addition to this, they have conducted researches and fields studies which played a great role in spreading the message of human rights “, she said.
