The country is expected to experience relatively hot and windy weather today, with a dust cover in most parts of the country throughout the day.

A forecast by the Meteorology Department warned of strong winds, high seas and poor visibility during the day with partly cloudy weather. Visibility is forecast to be between 4km and 7km and sometimes drop to as low as 2km or less.

The weather started to become hot and dusty on Friday, and the temperature increased between 40 degrees Celsius and 41 degrees Celsius in some places like Doha, Messaieed and Al Wakrah. The maximum temperature for today is forecast at 37-38 degrees Celsius.

However, Abdulla Mohammed Al Mannai, Head of Forecasting and Analysis at the Meteorology Department, told this daily: “This weather condition is normal. Dust has settled in the surface and it will be carried by strong winds, as wind will blow at the speed of 20 knots.” The unstable weather may continue until Wednesday. The wind will blow northwesterly at speeds ranging from 14-22 knots and reach 30 knots at times. It will shift southwesterly by night at a speed between 08 to 13 knots.
