Minister of Transport and Communications, HE Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, inaugurated Mada strategy 2019-2021 under the slogan “Digital Access for All”.

Following the success of the Mada 2016-2018 strategy, Mada Center launched the 2019-2021 Strategy within the framework of inclusion strategy and policy in the field of ICT accessibility that has so far resulted in remarkable achievements that made Qatar a regional and global center for digital access for persons with disabilities and the elderly.

On the sidelines of the launch ceremony, the Minister said that the digital access rate in the State of Qatar reached 94 percent, one of the highest access rates for government agencies that deal with essential services for citizens in the world. He added that Qatar was one of the first countries to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2008 and since that time, Qatar has taken a number of measures in its ongoing efforts to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities and their full integration into society.

Maha Al Mansouri, CEO of Mada, spoke about the strategic sectors and objectives of the Center Strategic Plan.

"The strategic role is that Mada will lead the development of the ICT Accessibility innovation ecosystem through establishing Innovation Hub, facilitating the growth of innovative solutions and capabilities."

Al Mansouri added: "The objective in the Education sector is to enable equal opportunity, ensuring an inclusive education system at all levels and lifelong learning through ICT. The objectives in the Culture sector are enabling an equal basis for PwDs to take part in Cultural Life via ICT, provide an opportunity for PwDs to use their creative, artistic and intellectual potential, supporting equal entitlement to specific cultural & linguistic identity."

    Ms. Maha Al Mansouri, CEO of Mada, had a presentation explaining the vision, mission and strategic plan of the center in different sectors and specific activities to achieve the desired impact.
