Training Section of HMC’s Human Resources Department recently conducted Springboard Women Self-Development Program in collaboration with the British Council. The Springboard program, which is conducted in four weekly sessions over one month, enables women to achieve greater recognition and influence and potentials in their work and personal lives by recognising their own values, setting goals that match those values and developing an action plan to achieve these goals. The program is now on its third year at HMC and is well-received by women staff members. Enas Malkawi, Certified Springboard trainer from Springboard Consultancy and the British Council, and Human Resources Training Manager at HMC, said: “The programme equips each participant with many skills that would help her to become more focused on her goals, achieve work-life balance, and become more assertive in her community and at work, in order to create a better impression about herself and to get support from those who can help her to achieve her goals.” “We invite guest speakers every session; those are successful women from the local community who overcame difficult challenges and remained focused on achieving their potentials both in their careers and their personal lives with their families. They share their success stories with the participants in order to provide support and inspiration,” said Malkawi. Shaikha Al Naimi, a pharmacist who is one of the participants said the programme provided her the opportunity to learn from the experiences of successful women and to gain useful tips in dealing with daily challenges. “We learned how to be assertive, to stay positive, and to have specific and realistic goals, as well as to never forget to have time for ourselves no matter how busy our lives are. It helped me to become more self-aware and more focused on my goals.” Offered and designed by leading UK-based training consultancy Springboard consultancy, the Springboard Women Self-Development Program is a phenomenally successful, award-winning development course that enables women to take more control over their own lives by identifying the clear, practical and realistic steps that they want to take and developing the skills and confidence to take them. It has been delivered for more than 200,000 women in 26 different countries and translated into 12 languages. Most recently, the course was held for women staff at the University of Oxford in the UK. -Source:Qatar Chronicle
