A report by Al Jazeera, on 15 November 2023 mentioned that as per sources, H.H. Sheikha Moza bint Nasser has withdrawn from her position as a goodwill ambassador with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). She has worked with the UN to support education since 2003.
The report mentioned that sources told Al Jazeera that the move came after H.H. Sheikha Moza said UNESCO had failed to carry out its role in rescuing and providing relief to the children of Gaza, who are the primary victims of Israel's ongoing bombardment campaign.
As per the sources, H.H. Sheikha Moza announced her decision during a summit in Istanbul on 15 November 2023.
