H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has directed sending rescue teams and urgent medical assistance to the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco to help with the relief efforts after the earthquake that struck several Moroccan cities and provinces.
On 8 September 2023, an earthquake of 6.8 magnitude struck Morocco causing over 1,000 deaths and 1,200 injuries. The earthquake has caused material damage in several cities and villages, resulting in collapsed homes and buildings. Residents of distant cities also felt the tremors and were forced to leave their homes due to aftershocks.
