Grand Heritage Doha Hotel and Spa joined the international community in honoring World Health Day 2014, by arranging a CPR and First Aid session for its staff. The hotel provided the training session in order to inform and educate its employees on the practice of instant medical assistance, and how it is used to reduce the risk of mishaps during sudden calamities.

The CPR and First Aid session was available to staff all day, supervised by the hotel’s certified nurse who administered discussions and answered questions. Employees were provided with the chance to practice CPR and First Aid procedures, and were also informed on Instant Response training and emergency situation management.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Zeid Talhami, Director of Sales & Marketing said “Grand Heritage Doha Hotel and Spa prioritizes this day as it conforms to its values, and therefore was honored to join the international community in its mission to raise awareness on health issues. Change can only be achieved when we all join hands and work together, particularly on issues of health and safety. We believe CPR and First Aid learning is crucial for our staff to master in order to further ensure a safe workplace for both employees and guests.”

World Health day is celebrated annually on April 7th to honor the establishment of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1968. On each year, WHO selects a specific health issue as its theme to raise awareness and prioritize specific health issues globally.

The Grand Heritage Doha Hotel and Spa is part of the Grand Heritage Group, a chain of luxury hotels around the world. It opened its doors in Doha in late 2011 and has since been an important presence in the hospitality industry in Qatar, both aesthetically and by measure of its services.
