A delegation of almost 20 German companies will be visiting Qatar next month to meet experts from the medical and health fields as well as ministries and institutions, the head of the delegation said. This will be the sixth visit to Qatar led by Lindenau, Managing Director of German Export Promotion Agency. This specialised agency in the field of foreign-trade oriented marketing activities has been cooperating with institutions at home and abroad, authorised by the German ministries as a main mediator in the framework of business promotion projects for many years. The projects are meant to initiate and intensify commercial contacts. During past visits, Lindenau met Sheikh Jabor bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani to discuss the participation of German entrepreneurs in the project for a new hospital. The delegation also held meetings with various companies to introduce their products, offer their services and assess their chances in this market. They also met representatives from Hamad Medical Corporation and Al Ahli Hospital, among others. The delegation that will be in Doha on June 2 and 3 comprises companies from the dental sector, as well as specialised in funerals, health in general and even the University of Dresden. The group also includes a company dedicated to the chronic care management of Diabetes mellitus–Telemedicine as option in a changing supply situation with general practitioners, specialists in internal medicine, endocrinologists and gastroenterologists. This disease management system is combined with advanced services for patients in Diabetes mellitus and developed to capture all relevant disease and diagnostic parameters in diabetes care, to monitor patients’ parameters such as applied insulin values, blood glucose measurements and carbohydrate units, among other uses. Distributors are interested in Qatar due to “the burden of diabetes in the country and the positive outcomes which can be realised with the application and use of the system.” The dental companies aim to meet with officials from the health ministry, especially for dental issues, with dental departments of private and governmental hospitals, dental faculties of universities, as well as dental dealerships or wholesaler for dental products and dental associations.
