The General Tax Authority issued a notice on 2 November 2023, warning the public to beware of social media scams that are using the authority's name.

As per the General Tax Authority, taxpayers are being targeted through social media and emails where scammers provide a link for tax deductions and ask individuals to submit a refund request.
The authority also urged the public to avoid clicking any suspicious links and avoid responding to any such request to ensure they do not fall victim to any scams or fraudulent operations.
