The Public Works Authorities (Ashghal), in association with the Traffic and Patrols Department, will partially open the Al Asiri underpass and the bridges on the D-Ring Road for traffic today. The road will be opened for traffic from Al Mirgab (Al Nasr) Street and motorists can proceed to the D-Ring road and can make a U-turn to head for Messaimir (Al Obeidly) Roundabout on the G-Ring Road or Al Tadamun Roundabout on the D-Ring Road via Al Asiri underpass and Khalifa Al Attiyah Intersection. Ashghal yesterday said the project, which is intended to ease traffic congestion on D-Ring and C-Ring roads, would be opened in three phases. The second phase opening will take place shortly. With the opening of this phase, motorists from Tadamun Roundabout can proceed to Al Murgab Intersection after crossing Al Attiyah and Al Asiri (Midmac) Intersection. The opening of the third phase of the project will facilitate motorists to proceed from Al Obaidly Roundabout on G-Ring Road to Al Mirgab via Al Attiyah Intersection and Midmac Intersection. The work is being carried out by Ashghal in 13 different phases. The Al Asiri-D Ring project forms the part of the Phase IV of Ashghal’s ambitious Doha Expressway Project. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local%5FNews&subsection=Qatar+News&month=February2009&file=Local_News200902222586.xml
