Family visa services to be provided at qatar visa centers abroad soon

The Peninsula Newspaper reported on 16 April 2023 that family visa services are to be provided at Qatar Visa Centers abroad soon.

The information was provided by a senior official during an awareness webinar named ‘The Services of Qatar Visa Center for the Public’, which was organized by the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

He mentioned that currently, only work visas are being processed; however, soon, the services of family visit visas, multiple entry visas, and family residence visas will also be provided through these centres.

Captain Khalid Salim Al Numaani, Head of the Technical Studies Section at the Visa Support Services Department of the General Directorate of Passports, mentioned that in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, MOI stays up to date with economic and urban developments as preparative measures to host global and regional events.

The QVC services such as fingerprints, collecting biometric data of expatriates, conducting a medical examination for them and signing work contracts in the country of origin before their arrival in Qatar is part of these measures.

He further confirmed that the first phase of the project features nine countries, out of which six countries are already active being; India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. The remaining three countries are Kenya, Tunisia and Indonesia.

These countries have been chosen as 67 per cent of the workforce is from the mentioned countries.

It was also mentioned that the application for the visa centre should be put in through Metrash2, which will be followed by a review of the expatriate’s employment contract in their local language.
