The Sheraton Park is located along Doha’s beautiful Corniche, near the iconic Sheraton Grand Hotel. This public park is a popular place all year round for children and adults to unwind with the impressive West Bay skyline behind them and the beautiful turquoise Arabian Gulf stretched out in front.

The promenade offers people the opportunity to walk, and jog and take in the view over the bay towards the old town, the port and the MIA. Various shaded spots are a great place to have a picnic and with an almost constant breeze you’ll see many people flying kites. It’s also possible to take a dhow ride from here or, if you prefer to stay on terra firma, there is a well-equipped children’s playground, grassy areas to laze around on and gym equipment for the more energetic. Free wifi is also available and for those wanting refreshments there is a Costa Coffee very close by or you could call into the Sheraton Grand where you will find places to get a drink and food.

In addition to The Sheraton Park there are seven hectares of newly opened public gardens with an array of water features and impressive landscaping just a couple of minutes walk away. This is a tranquil place to cool off on these balmy summer evenings.

Although not yet fully completed the emphasis here is on water – dancing fountains that spurt out of the ground, a small waterfall, streams and acoustic fountains in which water shoots onto cymbals making music! It is very much interactive and you can paddle in the water or allow yourself to get totally soaked by hiding under a cymbal or going under the waterfall.

Eventually this area will have a large underground car park, cafés, restaurants and washroom facilities but at the moment you will need to park along the Corniche and use the facilities there.
