This year’s Doha Cultural Festival has been cancelled due to it coinciding with other events in the city. “Yes, the Doha Cultural Festival this year has been cancelled for a number of reasons,” an official from the Ministry of Culture said yesterday. According to a report from the Qatar News Agency, the Ministry’s reasons for canceling the festival include the celebration of the Cultural City of Arabs 2010 event, which Doha will be hosting, and several other events and expositions happening in the city this year. The Doha Cultural Festival is a weeklong event that features movies, lectures, poetry, exhibitions, shows, theatre and other presentations performed by locals and residents of diverse nationalities.
