The Ethisphere Institute, a think-tank dedicated to the research and promotion of profitable best practices in governance, has named Doha in its '2020 Global Sustainability Centres' list. The list comprises 20 cities with a population of more than 60,000 notable for their long-term city planning and for building strong and principled foundations. The list is featured in the third-quarter issue of Ethisphere magazine. "In a world of increasing population pressures and depleting natural resources, some cities are proactively adjusting their practices today as well as implementing sustainable long-term city planning. We are recognising these 'cities of tomorrow', today," said Alex Brigham, Executive Director of The Ethisphere Institute. On Doha, the article said: "Doha is hot. "As future global centres, their planning will positively impact the quality of life of successive generations and provide a model for other cities to emulate," said Stefan Linssen, Managing Editor of the magazine. Cities from nearly every continent are named on the list, including North American metropolises and global cities from developing regions. The research-oriented Ethisphere Institute and its associated membership group, the Ethisphere Council, are supported by more than 200 leading institutions and corporations. The New York-based Institute is dedicated to the research, creation and sharing of best practices in ethics, compliance, and corporate governance among its member companies. It also focuses on the development and advancement of individuals on its membership council through increased efficiency, innovation, tools and unique career opportunities. The Pen
