Al Mourjan in partnership with Reach Out To Asia (ROTA)organised a VIP Charity Dinner, recently, which brought together business community to support ROTA - Al Fakhoora initiative to help children of Gaza. The event supported by the Art of Business raised QR153,000. Palestinian Ambassador Munir Ghanam spoke about the impact of the devastation on the lives of the Gaza population during the event and offered insight into how the audience could best support the children of Gaza. A modern painting donated by local Palestinian accomplished artist Ali Azzam was auctioned off for QR 11,000. “The event was held due to the urgency of the needs in Gaza” said Mohamed Sadek, organiser and owner of the restaurant. “The event was a success due to the charitable mood this catastrophe has triggered. We share a common dream a free and independent Palestine. Each Palestinian is depending on us, his Arab brethren to live and survive, we cannot let them down. Many children in Gaza are without food, medicine, shelter, heat and blankets, standing cold but proud, defiant and tall http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=February2009&file=Local_News2009020241458.xml
