A 12-year-old Sudanese boy reportedly went into coma as he nearly drowned in a swimming pool here on Wednesday during a summer camp held for school students. The boy did not know swimming but got into the pool unnoticed. He soon began drowning. The father of the boy told this newspaper yesterday he had informed the organisers of the camp that his son did not know swimming, so he should not be let into the pool. But the boy somehow managed to venture into the pool due to oversight. Alarm was raised when he was seen drowning. Rescuers jumped into the pool and got him out but he was already in critical condition.
