The Al Dana Green Run, organized by Doha Bank, took place this Saturday at Aspire Zone and had an incredible turnout. Around 6000 runners participated in the 13th edition of the Al Dana Green Run to support the event and help spread environmental awareness

In addition to Doha Bank, Aspire Logistics, Ministry of Youth and Sports (Qatar Sports Federation for All), Ministry of the Interior, Olympic Committee (Qatar Athletics Federation) and Qatar Red Crescent were also partners in organizing the popular Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event.

The run also coincided with the commencement of Qatar National Day celebrations for 2017, which made the event even more special as runners, families and community members showed their solidarity with Qatar and the Emir, while enjoying the different activities that were happening too.

Aside from the run, there were raffle draws with big cash prize giveaways, and one lucky winner, Abdul Baheer Nadathara, was crowned the new millionaire for Al Dana Saving’s Scheme 9th draw of the year. There were also other winners: 15 people won QR 10,000, one person won QR 25,000 and another won QR 100,000.

Participants in the run competed in 10 individual categories across various age groups and skill levels, such as professional runners, individuals below 18, and even participants with special needs. The winners of each category were awarded with unique prizes during an awards ceremony that featured live performances and entertainment. Around 109 special needs runners, representing various local special needs associations, took part in this year’s run as well.

Other fun activities for kids and families at the Al Dana Green Run included face painting, inflatable bouncy castles, giant slides, football and basketball competitions, as well as coloring crafts workshops.
