On 23 March 2024, The Ministry of Municipality (Al Baladiya) in Qatar shared a post on their social media encouraging its residents to participate in Earth Hour 2024 by turning off lights and non-essential electronic devices for one hour on March 23, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour is an initiative launched by the International Union for Conservation of Nature in 2007 in the Australian city of Sydney. It has received wide global attention and has transformed from a local initiative into a large-scale global initiative.

“Earth Hour” has become one of the largest popular events in the world that seeks to preserve the environment against climate change. One of the most important goals of celebrating Earth Hour is supporting the global movement to confront the effects of climate change and spreading awareness of its danger among members of society.
