Earlier today, there was a traffic accident inside the tunnel leading towards The Pearl-Qatar which affected at least three vehicles.

One vehicle in the extreme right lane seemed to have lost control and skidded to the left side of the tunnel. As a result, at least, two other vehicles crashed into the right side of the tunnel wall, causing a fire hydrant to burst. The water from the fire hydrant flooded the tunnel. According to the CCTV footage, the accident took place at 8:04 am.

For this reason, the lanes coming from the west to the east and from the east to the west were closed off, and vehicles en route to The Pearl-Qatar and Lusail City were advised to use alternative routes.

Traffic Qatar tweeted about this accident at 11:26 am for the public to be aware of it.

According to a poll we conducted today on the I Love Qatar Twitter account, after a member of our team in West Bay faced traffic issues, asking the ILQ fam if they had witnessed unusual traffic today, and 72.5% of people replied that they had by 3 pm!
