Some 400 cases have been filed in the courts this year against private companies, ministries and other government agencies by employees and others complaining of non-payment of compensation, dues, terminal and other benefits. The number of cases has more than doubled since last judicial year when such cases were barely 180, Al Sharq reported yesterday. Legal experts say the increase in the number of such cases was due to a similar rise in the number of commercial establishments in the country as well as improved awareness among workers about their rights.
