Shop Qatar 2021 introduces digital raffle draw system for safety of shoppers

Qatar Tourism launched the fifth edition of Shop Qatar running from 10 September to 10 October 2021 offers ‘One Festival, Countless Experiences’. This year, the festival boasts a digital raffle draw system, whereby shoppers will be able to enter the popular raffle draws by submitting receipts of QAR 200 and above through WhatsApp. Each purchase of 200 QAR at any participating retail outlet will be eligible for one raffle draw entry. Once shoppers have uploaded receipts, they will be entered in the four digital raffle draws. Hundreds of prizes including cash and car prizes worth over 4 million QAR are available to lucky winners.

In partnership with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Shop Qatar offers promotions and discounts of up to 90% at thousands of retail outlets in 13 shopping malls, The Pearl and Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport. Over 60 hotels are also participating in the festival this year, offering residents and visitors enticing discounts on stays, gym and spa packages as well as F&B offerings.

The safety and wellbeing of our residents and visitors remains our topmost concern, and this year’s Shop Qatar popular raffle draws have therefore gone digital this year. Touchless submission and selection offer a safe, seamless way for shoppers to participate in the raffle draws this year.”

Mr. Trenkel further commented:

“Shop Qatar 2021 promises endless choices, with 15 retail partners and over 60 hotels across the country participating. Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport (HIA) is a first-time partner, allowing international travellers to participate in an otherwise domestic event.”

How to participate in the raffle draw:

1- Register by messaging ‘Hi’ to +974 4499 7499 on WhatsApp or by scanning QR code in the mall.

2- Enter your details in the chat to create a customer profile

3- Message ‘Win’ to participate in the raffle draw

4- Once prompted by the virtual assistant, upload image of the receipt(s)

5- On every 200 QAR, you can enter 1 raffle coupon.

Retail partners for Shop Qatar 2021 include: Al Khor Mall, City Center Mall, Doha Festival City, Ezdan Mall Al Gharrafa, Ezdan Mall Al Wakrah, Galleria Mall, Gulf Mall, Hyatt Plaza, Lagoona Mall, Landmark Mall, Mall of Qatar, The Gate Mall, The Pearl, Villaggio Mall, and Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport. Qatar National and Convention Center and Doha Design District Msheireb will also host events and activities.

Four raffle draws will take place as below:

· Friday, 17 September at Doha Festival City

· Friday, 24 September at Hyatt Plaza

· Friday, 1 October at Lagoona Mall

· Sunday, 10 October at Mall of Qatar
