Update 10/1/2015: Qatar Handball 2015 got in touch with us via Twitter and told us that the news published by Gulf Times was in correct and that while they are flying around in hot air balloons to promote the event, there will be no free rides.

Hot air balloons lifting off from Doha Corniche yesterday, offering free rides to passersby, as part of a promotional activity ahead of the Qatar 2015 24th Men’s Handball World Championship, which will run from January 15 to February 1. The balloons are expected to be launched from the Museum of Islamic Art today.
