After 'Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story' hit Qatar theaters mid-2018, another Anne Curtis-starrer is being screened in the country. This time, via the effectively-creepy thriller 'Aurora.'

An official entry to the annual 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival in the Philippines, the movie tells the story of a passenger ship called Aurora, which collides into a rocky shore, destroying the livelihood of an entire island—forcing Leana, the owner of a rundown inn, to work for the victim’s families by finding the missing bodies for a bounty; risking her sister’s life and her own from the dead that will come to shore and find shelter in their home.

It was entirely shot in the island of Batanes which we featured on our Globetrotter section not so long ago. Read more about the 'Islands of Honesty' HERE.

Aurora bagged 5 major awards during the awards night of the above-mentioned film festival including Best Child Performer for 8-year-old Phoebe Villamor, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Design, Best Cinematography, and Second Best Picture.

Critics laud the film's eerie scenes brought about by its great cinematography and production design. Wonderful performances from lead actress Anne Curtis and the rest of the supporting cast were as well given credit.

Here's Aurora's screening schedule:
