Ties of education and innovation that stretch across continents have been celebrated and strengthened as Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation, met senior figures from the home campuses of the organization’s international partner universities.
During her visit to the US, Her Excellency Sheikha Hind attended the President’s Council meeting in Washington D.C., which brought together representatives from Hamad Bin Khalifa University – Qatar Foundation’s (QF) homegrown institute of higher education – and the international universities that have Doha-based branch campuses within QF’s unique environment of learning, Education City.
These universities equip students with the skills and knowledge for success in fields ranging from engineering, medicine, communications, and international affairs to art and design, computer science, and executive education – all supporting Qatar’s vision for human, social, and economic development.
Her Excellency Sheikha Hind also visited Carnegie Mellon University’s main campus in Pittsburgh, where she toured academic centers focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, teaching excellence, and disruptive education models such as technology-enhanced learning.
While visiting the 120-year-old institution, Her Excellency Sheikha Hind participated in a roundtable discussion and demonstration session on Artificial Intelligence, automation, and machine learning with Carnegie Mellon University faculty.
