The 6th edition of the Mahaseel Festival is ongoing at Katara Cultural Village in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality. It kicked off on 7 March 2022 and is happening in Katara's southern parking area.
The Mahaseel Festival, Mahaseel meaning 'harvest' in Arabic, brings together the agriculture and livestock industry in Qatar, and highlights 'Made in Qatar' products, sourced directly from the different farms and producers. Visitors can check out more than 25 stalls on display and all that this colourful festival has to offer.
The ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) team has put together the list of things to check out while you’re there - this is an event that you wouldn’t want to miss!
Get your hands on the freshest fruits and vegetables like tomatoes, spinach, carrots, coriander, lettuce, cucumber, onion, zucchini, watermelon, capsicum, beetroots, etc. The produce is directly sourced from farms and local producers that are participating in the event. Some of them are Baladna, Mazzraty, and Raw’a.
Are you a plant lover? Then you must definitely walk past the stalls selling indoor and outdoor plants, flowers, saplings, and more. You can also find garden supplies like fertilizers, soil, hoses, gardening tools and equipment to grow and nurture your plant babies!
Take home some delicious, ‘Made In Qatar’ honey and dates from the Mahaseel Festival. Not only that, but you can also find apiaries and companies selling honeycomb, honey spoons, honey wax candles and a variety of dates here. Are you excited to shop?!
Check out and shop for fresh livestock like chicken, eggs, and other poultry products. You will also find stalls selling dairy products like laban, milk and flavoured milk products & also juices.
Take a break at the multiple food stalls serving tea, coffee, snacks and sweets at the festival. You can also sit down on the various benches available there and enjoy the scenes too.
If you're travelling by Doha Metro, the nearest metro station to the Mahaseel Festival is Al Gassar Metro Station. The festival is happening opposite to St. Regis Doha Hotel, in Katara South parking.
The festival will be held until 12 March 2022, while Mahaseel Market will continue on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays of every week until 15 May 2022 (timings for the Mahaseel Market are to be updated).
