Qatar Chamber's (QC) Food Security Committee held Saturday a meeting to discuss a draft decision being prepared by the Ministry of Public Health on providing appropriate training for those who handle food as well as examining them through a test prepared by the Ministry.
The meeting, presided over by QC Board Member and Chairman of the Committee Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, was attended by QC Board Member Abdulrahman Al Ansari, Director of Food Security and Environmental Health at Ministry of Public Health Wasan Al Baker, Director of Municipal Control Department of Doha Municipality Salem Hamoud Al Sahfi, Secretary of Qatar Livestock
Society Hamad Rashid Mubarak, Director of Standards Department at Qatar General Organization for Standardization and Metrology Eng. Mohamed Al Gabor Al Nuaimi and a number of the committees' members, as well as many owners and directors of agricultural and food projects.
Al Baker gave a presentation on the importance of draft resolution and its importance on food safety, noting that the four-stage training program includes all persons who deal with food including manufacturing, transport, storage, and catering.
For his part, Al Obaidli praised the draft resolution, affirmed that it is important to discuss its mechanism of implementation in order to provide a program of reasonable cost for business owners and doesn't delay work at food facilities.
The meeting also discussed the national strategic project of food security.
