On its first two days, Project Qatar 2016, held under the Auspices of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, welcomed an unprecedented number of trade professional visitors showing a 36% increase in total visitors compared to the first 2 days of the previous edition. This shows the huge importance of Project Qatar as the ultimate business platform for the construction industry in Qatar and the region. Project Qatar’s move to the new venue DECC is also playing a major role in the visitor flow, due to its location in Westbay and the ease of access from the parking to registration and exhibition halls.

Visitors of the show were impressed by the variety of technologies and innovative solutions showcased during the event. They highlighted the importance of the B2B matchmaking platform which allowed them to engage with professionals from the same sector and discuss the newest trends in the construction industry with experts and policy makers. Mr. Martin Castles, Group Commercial Manager of Gulf Contracting Company noted: “We have explored over the last couple of days the latest products and innovations in the construction industry. The local, regional and international exhibitors had the opportunity to network with major officials and policy makers from Qatar and abroad. Visitors of Project Qatar 2016 benefitted during these two days from the new mobile application which provided them with all the information they need during the show such as the floor plan, the exhibitors’ list, the sponsors’ list, the visitors’ registration form, etc.

In the same context, IFP Qatar has decided to invite its international exhibitors to visit some of Qatar’s mega projects. On the first day of site tours, exhibitors visited the Hamad New Port Project, introduced by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, in 2007. As one of the world’s largest greenfield port developments, the HNPP will spread across 26.5 square kilometers.

After visiting this site, Mr. Paolo Mastromauro, Manager at Eurostone Italy said: “Project Qatar provides both exhibitors and visitors with exceptional opportunities to meet with new professionals, officials and decision makers from all around the world to network and discuss the latest trends in the construction sector. What we are seeing here is the future of Qatar.” The free site tour, offered by IFP Qatar, organizer of this event, are actually considered essential for international industry leaders to explore the outstanding development of the infrastructure projects in the state of Qatar.”
