In 2013 Prime steakhouse also was named “Best Steakhouse in Doha” in Time Out magazine.

The hotel also has been well-represented at The Hotelier Middle East Awards with colleagues taking home Young Hotelier and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Champion of the Year in 2013 and most recently in 2014, Laundry Attendant Hezron Jeremiah Onyango, was awarded runner-up in the Unsung Hero category for donating his entire one month’s salary to help the families of his fellow workers from the Philippines victimized by typhoon Haiyan. Within the Events Centre, InterContinental Doha The City has been host to numerous high-profile events including gala dinners for prestigious companies and governmental institutions, national days for Romania and Canada and the Arab Woman Awards. The hotel also recently hosted various teams for the Qatar 2015 World Handball Championships, including the world-champion France National Handball team. In addition, Al Jawhara Ballroom has been transformed into an authentic Oktoberfest hall for the past two years for the hotel’s highly successful Bavarian celebration.

The food and beverage offerings at InterContinental Doha The City have continued to evolve including the opening of Hwang pan-Asian restaurant in April 2014 offering cuisine from eight different Asian countries and now open for lunch serving special bento box selections.
