Qatar's Appreciative and Incentive State Awards winners get honoured by The Amir

H.E. Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali underlined that Qatar's appreciative and incentive state awards aim at supporting and appreciating researchers and scientists for their important role in developing the society, as the pioneers of the elite that instils new perspectives on concepts and builds the awareness of a community capable of meeting the challenges of the current stage.

In a statement Monday, on the sidelines of H.H. the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's honor of the winners of the Qatar's appreciative and incentive state awards in sciences, arts and literature, H.E. the Minister of Culture and sports said that HH the Amir's patronage of the two awards reaffirms the wise leadership's appreciation for science and its keenness on promoting the position of the researcher and innovator in a society that believes in the importance of knowledge in the development of the various fields of life.

H.E. noted that the State of Qatar is full of researchers and scientists who spare no effort to develop their research and creativity to contribute to the advancement of the State and society and participate in the development of the human scientific record for the advancement of human life.

H.E. the Minister of Culture and Sports congratulated the winners of the appreciative and incentive state awards and thanked them on their efforts which will give an added to their fields of specialization and will give the community bright signs of knowledge. He also thanked the officials in charge and arbitrators for their efforts and attention which reflect their active participation in achieving the noble cultural goals of the country.

Qatar's appreciative and incentive state awards were established in accordance with Law No. (11) of 2003. The first round was launched in April 2005. The prizes are awarded every two years in the fields of Islamic studies, social and human sciences, pure and applied sciences, arts and literature.

The value of the two awards this year is QR 2,800,000. The winner of the state appreciative award receives QR 500,000 with a gold medal, a patented and a certificate of appreciation. The winner of the state incentive prize receives QR 300,000 with a certificate, a gold medal and a patented. If more than one person wins, the prize amount will be distributed equally among them, and each of them will be awarded a gold medal and a certificate of appreciation.
